Employees tied up during cell phone store robbery in west Harris Co.

Investigators spent Friday night on the scene of a crime that’s becoming all too common in our area —  another cell phone store has been robbed. But this time, the employees were tied up.

According to a spokesman for the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office, five masked men approached the car’s owner in his driveway in the 7400 block of Lobera Drive around 11:30pm. Authorities say one of the men pulled a gun and demanded the keys. The men (5) then took off in his 2012 Dodge Charger.

     7 homes in northeast Fort Bend County burglarized in less than a week

A string of crimes in northeast Fort Bend County has residents on edge. Authorities say they’ve been called out to at least seven burglaries in a week.

A thief hit a home about 11 p.m. Friday on Ember Hollow Lane. The homeowner woke up as someone tried to get into his home.

On Jan. 6, someone got in a back window of a home on Keegans Ridge Way Drive, ate some food and took off.

One day later, someone broke into a home on Great Oaks Hollow Drive in the Great Oaks subdivision.

On Jan. 8, someone used a power saw to cut a hole in a back door to get into a home on Fechser Lane in the Aliana subdivision.

Two days later, thieves got into a back door of a home on Great Oaks Shadow Drive. They took off with watches and jewelry.

Also on Thursday, thieves hit a home on Wind Grove Court in Mission Bend. A thief got in a back door and stole a Playstation 3 and an iPad.

Also on Jan. 10, thieves broke into a home on Wahl Manor Court through a master bedroom window and stole cash and jewelry.

  • Burglary suspects arrested after crashing getaway vehicle

    • A group of burglary suspects wound up in over their heads.  Investigators say they rolled their vehicle while trying to make a getaway.Deputies were called to a burglary of a home Wednesday at Chelsea Bend Court and Clodine Mission Bend area of Fort Bend County.  Residents saw the suspects leave in a red SUV.

    • They call it Computer Cop — a new Internet monitoring software designed to protect young people from online predators.
    • Harris County District Attorney Pat Lykos is touting this computer software program as a safeguard for the community against cyber-predators. It’s different from other Internet monitoring software programs in that it’s easy to install, easy to navigate and it’s being offered to the public for free.

  • Mission Bend Civic Town Hall Meeting

    • A group of neighbors is banding together to fight back against crime in their area. People who live in the Mission Bend area say recently there have been a number of burglaries there and it’s time to do something. They met at a neighborhood clubhouse for a town hall meeting to discuss the situation. Read More (Channel 13)

  • Fort Bend deputies investigating home invasion robbery, assault

    • Deputies in Fort Bend County are trying to identify and track down a trio of teens who robbed and assaulted a couple at gunpoint in their home. The home invasion robbery happened around 9:30pm Friday in the 8200 block of Wind Grove Ct. in the Mission Glen subdivision.
    • HOUSTON — There has been a rash of burglaries in the Mission Bend subdivision.  Harris County sheriff’s deputies said there have been at least nine break-ins in the past six weeks.  Most of the burglaries have happened between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m., detectives said. The thieves have gotten into the homes through the back doors or windows, officials said.

Crime Watch Round Table Meeting UP-Date

The Greater Mission Bend Area Council Sponsored a Crime Watch Round Table Meeting Saturday, August 6th, 2011 at the Community Volunteer Fire Station located at 16003 Bellaire Blvd.

Approximate 30 Greater Mission Bend Area Resident attended and shared ideas as to how to form Crime Watch Programs for individual HOA’s that would be coordinated by GMBAC.

  • Two suspects wanted for convenience store robbery

    • FORT BEND COUNTY, TX (KTRK) — Your help is needed to solve a crime in Fort Bend County. The incident happened at the Welcome Market convenience store in the 15000 block of Beechnut last Saturday. Two men armed with shotguns entered the store, tried to steal money from the register while also stealing wallets and money from customers. Police say one victim was kicked and the other was hit in the head with the butt of the gun.
